Patong
This has been our least favorite place in Thailand so far. It’s a party town- think bourbon street NOLA but really old and run down. All of the buildings look to be in disrepair and theres a stale smell of urine in the air. I’m sure there are nice spots in Patong but the beach isn’t anything special compared to its neighboring beaches. If you’re looking for an authentic thai experice, SKIP Patong. Everything was overpriced and everywhere you turn vendors are trying to get you into their stalls and will literally grab your arm to stop you. You know what? I’ll just leave it there.
Since our review is so negative I thought I would leave you with the google information on Patong “Patong is a beach resort town on the west coast of Phuket Island, facing the Andaman Sea in the southwest of Thailand. It’s sandy, crescent beach is lined with cafes, restaurants and bars. The famously raucous nightlife scene features beer bars, go-go bars, nightclubs, massage parlors and cabarets that overflow into the street along neon-lit Bangla Road..”
